Senior Data Engineer (Payments/Snowflake)

6-month rolling contract

I’m currently partnering with a well-established organisation in the payments space who are seeking an experienced Senior Data Engineer to join their team on a 6-month rolling day rate contract. This role is fully onsite in Nenagh, Tipperary, and is ideal for a hands-on data professional with deep technical expertise, particularly in Snowflake.

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop and maintain scalable data pipelines and ETL/ELT processes
  • Build and optimise high-performance data models in Snowflake
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data needs and deliver reliable solutions
  • Implement data quality frameworks and best practices
  • Support ingestion, transformation and delivery of large datasets from multiple sources
  • Troubleshoot complex data issues and performance bottlenecks
  • Ensure data solutions align with security, compliance, and governance standards

Required Experience:

Strong Snowflake expertise, hands-on development and optimisation
• Proficient in SQL and data modelling principles
• Experience with ELT/ETL tools (e.g., dbt, Talend, Informatica, Matillion)
• Strong understanding of cloud data platforms (Snowflake + Azure/AWS/GCP)
• Solid background in building data warehouse or data lake solutions
• Experience with streaming or event-based data (Kafka, Kinesis) advantageous
• Proven ability to deliver complex data solutions in an enterprise environment
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
